Italy or Spain for your first European journey?

Both countries offer history, art, architecture and food. Choose for your group’s interests and a workable route for your dates, rather than a feeling that you must see everything.

This guide offers planning principles and examples. Routes are illustrative; they do not represent completed client journeys or confirmed services.

Start with what you want to experience

Both countries offer history, art, architecture and food. Choose for your group’s interests and a workable route for your dates, rather than a feeling that you must see everything.

Spain: cities and neighborhood life

Madrid, Seville, Granada and Valencia offer different combinations of heritage, squares and food. Spanish speakers may also find everyday interactions easier.

Italy: art and cultural routes

Rome, Florence and Venice are one possible combination for a city-focused trip. Coast or countryside involve a different decision about pace and transfers; they need not fit into the same route.

Compare equivalent scope

Check flights from your origin, duration, equivalent stays, transportation and activities. Neither country is automatically less expensive for every date.

The design recommendation

With ten days, start with one country and fewer bases. Then choose the combination that sparks the most curiosity across the group.

Turn the idea into your journey.

Share your dates, travelers and priorities. The design begins with that conversation.
